EM Forum Asia 2010

On 7 August 2010, the PSDC played host to the EM Forum Asia 2010, the first ever such gathering to be held in the region. Over 200 people, consisting of speakers, EMRO delegates, and participants, both local and foreign, took part in this full day event.

Jointly organised by the PSDC and Syntropy Malaysia, the Forum presented a special opportunity for EM users to gather, share, and exchange perspectives and experiences on EM technology, and for the public to acquire invaluable knowledge and new updates on EM.

Speakers from Malaysia and Singapore shared their experiences with EM during the morning session, while the afternoon saw speakers from Latin America, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, Indonesia, and Japan. Both sessions, along with the Open Forum & Discussion segment at the end of afternoon session, were moderated by Dr Ravi Sangakkara, a Senior Professor of Crop Science at Sri Lanka's University of Peradeniya.

Update 19 June 2010 - Lahad Datu Earth Day Event Edition

EM Campaign in Lahad Datu, East Coast The East Coast EM Campaign was successfully launched on 19 June 2010, titled “100,000 EM Mudballs Campaign” under the “Hari Bumi 2010” banner (Earth Day 2010). The event launch was held at the Lahad Datu fish and wet market, adjacent to a filthy and putrid pier.

It was a great event attended to by the MP, State Health Official, NGOs, sponsors, supporters and volunteers. Media present were Borneo Post and Astro Awanni (Cable TV Channel). Some 50,000 mudballs were cast into the fish market pier, to be followed by volunteers at 5 other locations in Lahad Datu later in the day.
